About the role
Gusto is hiring for an Application Engineering role to support Sales and CX platforms in Denver, New York, or San Francisco. The position involves designing scalable Apex solutions, leveraging AI coding assistants daily, and building reliable production systems at scale.
Key requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years developing on the Salesforce platform in Apex
- Salesforce Platform Developer I and/or Application Architect certification(s)
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, sf CLI, and change/release management best practices
- Fluent, daily use of AI coding assistants across the development lifecycle
- Experience building, testing, and debugging reliable production systems at scale
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into business value
